This console, with a few games, cost me 50,000 Lire in 1998 (before the Euro), which is about 36€ or 41$ today. At that time there were a few classified magazines: in the beginning you had to pay for them, then came the free ones, then came the internet… and all those magazines disappeared like tears in the rain.
Here’s a scan of the original ad… good ol’ times. It translates to “For sale: Atari 7800 with 14 games. Call at meal times”, with the price and a landline phone.
I was there, Gandalf. I was there, 3000 years ago.

The console works fine and is in very good shape.

The manual is in English.
The front, rear and side views.

The usual exploded view.

In my opinion, the controllers that came with the European version were of poor quality: the buttons sometimes get stuck because the guides that hold them in place are only two and too thin, and the directional pad is not very sensitive.

The stick on the directional cross could be unscrewed, as shown in the exploded view below.

The motherboard is a C300633-01 REV C.

The box is not in a very good condition, and the inside is torn up.

Of the 14 games in the ad, some were for the Atari 2600 (with which the 7800 is compatible), and I did not keep track of them.
These are the cartridges for the 7800.

The power adapter is in really bad shape, and I hope to find one in better condition. Since I forgot to take a picture of it, here’s one last picture of the console.
